BUILTH Wells handed Admiral Division One West Central title-chasers Glynneath a fright before falling to a 27-12 defeat at the Groe on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring in front of a bumper gate of more than 500 supporters as Aled Evans tore through to touch down.

The Bulls hit back as Hugh Price charged over following a driving maul and the home side remained in control for much of the half before Glynneath regained their lead with a second converted try.

Builth looked to go back to basics following the interval with half backs Jack Griffiths and Rhys Davies utilising their kicking ability to put the visitors under pressure.

It was once again the driving maul that found the Bulls success with Price crossing the whitewash once again to reduce the arrears.

The Bulls discipline cost them dearly as Dylan Francis punished the hosts with his boot and ensure a comfortable margin of victory.

COBRA staged a second-half comeback to celebrated a 27-19 win at home to Mold in division one north.

The Meifod side trailed by 19 points at the break before scrum-half Tyler Williams sparked a comeback with two tries and further scores from Chris Morris and Deiniol Jones sealed victory with Will Worthington kicking the remainder of the points.

Newtown ended their second division campaign with a 19-13 win at home to Abergele with tries from Jac Beynon-Thomas, Glen Pybus and Finn Jones along with two conversions from Will Holloway sealing glory.

Machynlleth booked their place in the third division cup final with a resounding 52-10 win at home to Menai Bridge.

Rhys Lewis and Huw Rees each crossed for two tries each while Ruben Kohler, Carwyn Pugh, Ifan Slinger and Richard Rees also crossed for tries while Iwan Powl-Jones kicked six conversions.
