A CEILIDH dance will be held in West Cumbria this weekend, to raise funds for doctors who provide medical help in Gaza.

The Ceilidh dance will be held in the Christ Church Community Hall on South Street in Cockermouth on Saturday, May 4  at 7pm with hopes of raising funds for Project Pure Hope, an organisation who provide vital medical care for children who have been affected by conflict in Gaza.

The event will see attendee's dancing to the travelling light band with caller Jane on hand to show people how to participate.

A spokesmen for the event, said: "The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the charity Project Pure Hope set up by a team of doctors and their medical teams.

"They will give their time freely, providing medical care for children who have suffered serious injuries in the conflict."

Tickets are £8 with children free, with people being encouraged to bring their own refreshments.
