A man wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in Trafford has been arrested.

Among the items found during Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) raid at an address in Wythenshawe this morning, were keys to a Porsche, Jeep and an Audi as well as a Rolex watch.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglaries in Timperley and Partington, as well as Stockport's Bramhall, while a 24-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and obstructing a police officer.

They both remain in custody for questioning by GMP detectives.

Chief Inspector Gareth Firth, from GMP’s Trafford District, said: “We currently have a man in custody being questioned by officers thanks to the swift actions of our officers.

"Thanks to a great team effort this morning we were able to make these arrests. Our investigation currently remains ongoing, and I would encourage anyone who may information or video footage to get in touch with police as soon as possible."

Alongside the items found following a subsequent search of the property, was a rucksack containing what police described as a 'burglary kit', found with mole grips, pliers, a tracker, signal jammer and suspected class A drugs.
