A man abused an ambulance crew at his home after he was attacked by his own dog in Stretford.

GMP Trafford shared the shocking story with a post on social media on Monday (December 18).

The post on social media said the man called an ambulance crew to his home after he was attacked by his own dog but on their arrival he was "abusive".

The emergency workers retreated to their vehicle where the assailant threw a beer bottle at them.

A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and a public order offence. 

A dog was seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act for a "behavioural assessment".

The post on social media said: "The offender was taken to hospital due to his significant arm injury from the dog and he will be interviewed in due course."
