Starbucks is offering NHS workers a free tall drink to say thank you ahead of Christmas for the fourth year running.

The one-day offer is available to all NHS workers all day on Wednesday, December 6.

NHS workers simply need to present their identity card and order the free tall beverage of their choosing at all Starbucks stores across the UK.

Alex Rayner, general manager at Starbucks UK, said: "We want to thank NHS staff across the UK for all the work they do and as a token of our appreciation, we are bringing back the free Tall beverage on December 6 for the fourth year running.

"Coffee brings people together and we hope that NHS staff can take a moment today to share the festive joy and raise a coffee to one another to celebrate.

"We know how much NHS staff have enjoyed taking part in this special day and it’s something we look forward to year after year, so we are thrilled to see our partnership with NHS Charities Together flourish and our offer extend to more NHS workers than ever before.

"We look forward to building on this success so we can continue to give back to the communities we serve."

The coffee chain's deal is part of an ongoing partnership between Starbucks and NHS Charities Together (NHSCT).

Each Starbucks store across the country is paired with one of over 250 local NHS charities, to help support staff, patients, and communities across the UK.

NHS Charities Together provides varied and extensive support including counselling, helplines, and peer-to-peer support for staff.

It also includes projects that support the long-term recovery of the NHS and reduces health inequalities in local communities.

Deliveries of Frappuccino mocha flavoured chilled coffee and Toffee Nut Latte premium instant coffee will be made to select hospitals without a nearby Starbucks store.

Free caramel waffles will also be offered when a drink is purchased by NHS staff at participating We Proudly Serve Starbucks locations inside NHS hospitals.

Starbucks has also introduced its largest range of reusable merchandise this festive season.

Customers now have more reusable cup options and there is a 25p discount the next time they bring their cup into the store.

NHS staff have also been encouraged to make the switch by using a reusable cup to drink their free tall beverage.
