The council is starting Job Clubs for supporting jobseekers in their search for work.
The clubs run from September 4 then on a weekly basis at locations across the area.
Some of the support available at these events includes advice on applications and interviews, as well as advice on searching for opportunities, including on social media.
Liz Patel, the council's executive member for economy and regeneration, said: "We are delighted to be launching these Job Clubs in Trafford – it is a fabulous initiative.
"We have made supporting people out of poverty a priority and the clubs support this commitment."

Monday 1pm-3pm: Broomwood Community Centre, Mainwood Road, Timperley, WA15 7JF
Tuesday 10am-12pm: Stretford Library, Bennett Street, Stretford, M32 8AP
Tuesday 1pm-3pm: Urmston Library, Golden Way, Urmston, M41 0NA
Wednesday 10am-12pm: Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue, Sale, M33 4QH
Wednesday 1pm-3pm: Your Housing Group, Wood Lane, Partington, M31 4LW
Thursday 10am-12pm: St John's Centre, St John's Road, Stretford, M16 7GX
Thursday 1pm-3pm: Connexions Trafford, Tatton Road, Sale, M33 7ZF
