Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of a range of offences after stopping a car in the area of Old Trafford.

The Operation Venture officers were on patrol as a part of the operation to tackle violence in Greater Manchester.

Police spotted a Ford Focus and tracked it until the arrival of other officers before stopping the car in the area of Old Trafford.

They arrested two teenagers, one of them after "a scuffle", on suspicion of the possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply and the possession of an offensive weapon.

After a search of the Ford Focus uncovered 15 boxes of a psychoactive substance they were arrested on suspicion of possession of a psychoactive substance with intent to supply too.

Inspector Jon Ezard, of Greater Manchester Police's Operation Venture Team, said: "This result is due to the work of our Operation Venture officers.

"This result shows our approach in tackling serious violence and knife crime across Greater Manchester is working," he added.
