The search is on for a man who fled from the scene of a crash after a police pursuit across Sale.

The police pursuit involved teams in the air and on the ground in the early hours of one morning last week.

According to a post on social media by GMP Trafford this week it started when the Transport Unit spotted a suspicious motorbike in Northern Moor. It transpired it was a stolen motorbike taken from Stretford.

The Transport Unit lost the rider but he was seen on CCTV in Sale Moor a short time afterwards.

They lost the rider a second time but, this time, he was stung by the Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit resulting in punctures to the tyres. He lost control on Navigation Road and he fled from the scene of the crash.

There were no arrests but the search is on for the man thanks to "a trail of forensics".

The post on social media by GMP Trafford this week said: "This was an example of teamwork from those within Specialist Operations and beyond.

"This is one example of where we target those criminals causing the most harm in your neighbourhoods."
