A man has been sentenced after assaulting and racially abusing the manager of a shop in Sale last month.
Peter Findlay, of Stanley Grove, Longsight, pushed into the store manager of a Co-op shop in Sale on June 28.
After pushing into the man, the 45-year-old racially abused the manager.
On July 12, Findlay appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to racially aggravated common assault.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, which was uplifted by three months for racism.
This means Findlay cannot commit another crime during this period and if he does, he can be sentenced for the first offence as well as the new one.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £26 and court costs of £85.
