A man has pleaded guilty to owning a number of dogs which were dangerously out of control when they attacked a six-year-old girl in Carrington in March.
On March 26, police were called to Ackers Lane, Carrington, to reports of a girl being attacked by a group of dogs.
The girl was hospitalised and on March 30, Bernard Valentine, of Ackers Lane, was charged with several counts of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control that caused injury, as well as one count of possession of Class B drugs.
Today (May 4), at Minshull Street Crown Court, Valentine, 35, pleaded guilty to five counts of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control that caused injury, in relation to the attack on the girl.
Valentine had previously pleaded guilty to two other offences of owning a dangerously out of control dog, which related to an attack on another dog in December 2022, and possession of cannabis.
The charges relating to the out of control dogs fall under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The extent of the injuries suffered by the girl are unknown.
He is set to be sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court on July 14.
