A coronation-themed event is being held in Stretford town centre this Saturday (May 6), which will include a live screening of King Charles III's coronation.
The free event, which will run from 12pm to 4pm, is part of the monthly Stretford Socials events and welcomes the community to celebrate the special day with food and drink, music, independent stalls and more.
From 11am to 3pm, the coronation will be shown on a large projection screen, while The SQ will be decked out with bunting and flags, and there will be free coronation-themed arts and crafts for children to enjoy.
Local cafe Uplift will be relaunching during the event after finding a new home in The SQ in Stretford Mall.
The cafe will be serving coffee, tea, and scones while they have teamed up with local Stretford company, Playmaker Events, to host a charity cream tea.
People can pay either £7 for scones and unlimited hot drinks or £10 for scones and prosecco, with the money raised going towards Christie's Nightingale Unit.
Tickets can be bought at The SQ on the day.
There will also be a dedicated seating area for the Trafford veterans and Theo, their mascot bear, where the community are invited to sit down with them for a chat and cup of tea.
Stretford Knitters will be in attendance, collecting donations for breast cancer charities and showcasing their latest knitting creation.
Stretford based creative hub/music studios Cirkl Studios will also be providing the soundtrack, taking to the stage to lead a traditional sing along on Stretford’s community piano.
A variety of baked goods will be on offer as well as the community looks to make it a memorable day.
