ICare (GB) Limited, which opened in Urmston in August 2021, is celebrating the outcome of its first Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.

The care team, led by registered manager Catherine Corlett, have achieved a ‘Good’ rating in all five categories, regulated by CQC.

ICare provides a variety of care services in the Borough of Trafford and is part of the wider ICare Group, which has delivered care to people in their own homes, and meals on wheels across the Northwest for almost three decades.

The Urmston branch achieved a 'Good' award in each category, including 'safe', 'effective', 'caring', 'responsive' and 'well-led.'

Catherine said: “We were ever so pleased with the report, which showed how dedicated our team is to the welfare of our vulnerable customers, and how often they will do that little bit extra to make people feel happy and at ease when they need care.”

ICare’s chief operating officer, Daniel Masters, who is originally from Urmston, said: “Music can trigger golden memories and benefit people with dementia. Everyone remembers songs from their past – their first kiss, a wedding song or seeing their parents dance, and we often use music to remember people we’ve lost.

“Music can have many benefits in the setting of dementia. It can reduce anxiety and depression, help maintain speech and language, is helpful at the end of life, enhances quality of life and has a positive impact on carers.

“I’m ever so proud of Catherine and the team, and especially Bev, for their caring and positive approach, which has brought us this excellent CQC report.”
