The Met Office has issued a snow and ice yellow weather warning for Trafford this weekend as much of the country grapples with the ongoing cold snap.

The weather warnings will be in place on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 with disruption expected.

This comes as other places across the UK experience similar yellow and amber warnings for snow and ice.

The Trafford area has faced weather warnings all week with the worst likely still to come.

Snow and Ice could cause 'power cuts' as yellow weather warnings continue this weekend

The Met Office said that the weather could cause travel disruptions for road users, leaving cars and passengers stranded by the side of the road.

There could also be delays to air travel with many flights being cancelled while buses and trains could also be delayed or halted.

Untreated pavements are also a risk to pedestrians and cyclists, putting them at risk of falls and injury.

There is also a small chance of power cuts and problems with other services like mobile phone coverage.
