Trafford charity Anxiety UK has been shortlisted for a national award.
Anxiety UK has been shortlisted in the Development and Innovation Award category at this year’s Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards, taking place on Friday, March 3 at The Grand Hotel, Birmingham.
Now in its ninth year, The Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards recognises and rewards the hard work, dedication, innovation and excellence of the not-for-profit sector and all those who make a positive difference to people’s lives.
This Development and Innovation Award recognises an individual, group or organisation finding new models of care or research that make a difference to the lives of people using services.
Neil Galjaard, divisional managing director at Markel UK, said: “Every year we hear some fantastic stories about how charities up and down the country are supporting those in need and this year is no different.
“Anxiety UK was one of the many outstanding entries. We are delighted to see them in the shortlist and wish them the best of luck in the final.”
An Anxiety UK spokesperson said: “The team at Anxiety UK were delighted to be shortlisted for the award in Development and Innovation and thank the Markel Awards for recognising our hard work as we strive to be at the forefront for providing solutions to those living with anxiety, stress and anxiety-based depression.
“Our Ask Anxia service is a friendly eHelper on the Anxiety UK website, available 24-7, 365 days a year.
“Given the nature of anxiety, it can affect anyone at any time so we felt it was important to put a service in place to accommodate for this; one that could provide guidance on anxiety when other support options are closed.”
