A monthly community event is returning to Trafford for the first time this year with food, drink, fundraising and activities.

Stretford Socials is being held in the SQ cafe in the centre of Stretford Mall on Saturday, February 4 from 12pm to 4pm.

Also at the event, Bruntwood and Trafford Council will be attending to answer questions about the transformation of Kings Street.

Amongst the fundraising efforts at Stretford Socials will be St Matthews Church, who are holding a cake sale to raise funds to go back into the church.

Also present will be Stretford Food Bank with their food collection service and self-funded voluntary group Stretford in Bloom, who have organised a plant swap.

Not-for-profit Collaborative Women will also have a stall and will speak about their work in assisting women in making constructive choices for their future.

There will be many other stalls, with all kinds of items on sale.

Bruntwood and Trafford Council were recently given the green light to reinstate King Street, the historic high street Stretford.

The plans will look to create a thriving high street and a home for retailers, eateries and bars to boost the local evening economy.

Representatives from the Stretford Town Centre team will be Stretford Socials on Saturday to answer questions about the upcoming transformation.
