Residents in Trafford are being urged to share their views on the future development of Sale Moor and Hale village centres.

Trafford Council wants all stakeholders, residents, and businesses to take part in a consultation which opened on Monday.

Back in 2019, the council instructed Nexus Planning and a wider team of sub-consultants to prepare ‘Place Plans’ for the villages.

The plans were drafted during the covid pandemic but then withdrawn to be revisited at a time when the country was back to a degree of normality.

The council is now looking to update the plans to ensure they reflect the way residents use village centres following the pandemic.

Cllr Liz Patel, executive member for economy and regeneration, said: “Our village centres in Hale and Sale Moor are really important to residents and play a key role in community life.

“This consultation is an opportunity for us to understand how they can be shaped in a way which meets the needs of communities and businesses now and in the future.

“These Place Plans will be incredibly useful when funding opportunities arise as we can use them to demonstrate what matters most to our communities and businesses.

“There are opportunities to engage with the consultation both in person and online and I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to take the time to make their views known.”

The public consultation runs until February 17, 2023 and the Trafford council website is hosting the online consultation.
