The popular dark comedy show Inside No.9 is said to be ending after nine series.
The news comes after creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith shared that they wanted to focus on new projects.
As the pair told The Sun “We feel it is a good time to pause Inside No.9 after we finish filming series nine next year.”
Many fans will be upset to say farewell to the cult show, but the creators have hinted that it might not be goodbye forever.
As the duo shared: “We’re not saying it’s over for good. After all, The League Of Gentlemen came back, but we won’t be looking to make any more episodes for the time being.”
Inside No.9 gained a cult following and featured popular stars from Sir Derek Jacobi, Keeley Hawes and the late Helen McCroy.
Alongside working on Inside No.9 together, the duo also created the hit comedy The League of Gentlemen.
Before the comedy takes its final bow, a Christmas special will air called The Bones of St Nicholas.
The Christmas special stars actors Simon Callow and former Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati.
