A young woman has pleaded guilty to causing the death of another woman by careless driving.

Chloe Bell, of Brambling Way, Lowton, admitted to the charge of causing death of Elizabeth Anne Lythgoe, 70, by careless/inconsiderate driving on Slag Lane on Friday, July 3, 2020.

The defendant, who was aged 19 at the time, was driving a MINI One car.

On Wednesday, Bell, now aged 21, appeared at Bolton Crown Court and pleaded guilty.

She is due to be sentenced on Tuesday, December 20.

Following Mrs Lythgoe's death, a notice was published in our sister paper, the Leigh Journal.

Among her funeral details at Howe Bridge Crematorium, the notice stated: "Tragically on 3rd July, 2020, Anne aged 70 years.

"Cherished wife of Frank, and dear friend to many will be sadly missed by all who knew her."
