The parents of students who attend 10 schools in Trafford are urged to check if their children are eligible for an Education Season Ticket (EST).
Northern Trains is in partnership with 124 institutions on its network to offer the season ticket, which is said to save parents hundreds of pounds.
According to the operator, an EST offers unlimited travel between two stations for students at the schools involved, which include six around the Altrincham area, one in Sale, one in Timperley and two in Urmston.
In one example, Northern Trains said the difference between a year's worth of 'Anytime Day Returns' and the season ticket was more than £420.
Mark Powles, customer and commercial director, said: "Parents can save hundreds of pounds per year by investing in an EST at the start of the academic year.
“They’ll also be able to rest assured their child will always have the means to get to and from school – and they won’t have to scramble around for the fare each morning."
