Firefighters battled a blaze at a Burger King next to a petrol station last night.

The emergency services were called to Chester Road in Stretford at around 8pm on Wednesday, August 10.

Photos shared on social media showed a plume of smoke over Burger King, which is next to a petrol station.

Firefighters from Stretford, Sale and Moss Side battled the blaze for an hour.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 8pm on Wednesday, August 10, firefighters were called to a fire at a commercial property on Chester Road in Stretford.

"Three fire engines from Stretford, Sale and Moss Side attended the incident where air conditioning units and fencing were on fire.

"Firefighters used hose reels, a ladder and a thermal camera to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for just over an hour."
