This week a couple tied the knot at The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience in Manchester, making them the first to do so.

Surrounded by their loved ones, sales manager, Steve Wilde and Siân Johnson, a woodwind repairer, said their vows while on the steps of the Crystal Dome.

A total of 80 guests witnessed the big day at The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience.

The couple’s ceremony was conducted by a Maze Master Richard Ayoade lookalike and guests at the wedding of Steve, 38, and Siân, 35 were treated to a game in the maze after the wedding.

They tucked into a street food inspired meal including Poutine and Burgers after the couple, who have been together for 13 years, got married.

That wasn’t all as the wedding continued into the evening with the pair dancing their first dance to ‘Rhodd’ by Iwan Rheon and cutting into their two-tier wedding cake.

Guests who were invited to celebrate in the evening were treated to a host of 90s classic tunes by the wedding band, The Uptones.

The couple even got to wear bespoke bomber jackets, reminiscent of the original TV show’s classic team apparel.

Steve and Siân said: “After coming out the other end of the Pandemic, we wanted to make sure our wedding day was a truly memorable one for our family and for us.

“We wanted something fun and interactive that our guests could get involved with – a game and a challenge as well as a wedding! The Crystal Maze ticks all those boxes.

“It’s so cool and shiny but also familiar and nostalgic, we’re so excited we’re the first couple to get married here.”

The wedding packages at The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience launched earlier this year and there are two wedding ceremony options for couples to choose from.

An entirely bespoke experience can be planned for a couple’s big day including the option to say their vows in three of the zones - Aztec, Futuristic or Medieval or join in holy matrimony in the Crystal Dome.

Tom Lionetti-Maguire, CEO and Founder of Little Lion Entertainment Limited, discussed the launch, saying: “Start the confetti fans, please! What an honour it has been to work with Steve and Siân to create a completely bespoke and enjoyable wedding for them and their guests. Hopefully the first of many happy couples to tie the knot in our iconic setting.”

Choosing the Elopement Wedding package means up to 80 guests can see the couple say their vows while gathering around the Crystal Dome.

Couples can alternatively choose the Ultimate Challenge package which means guests are split into teams and take on challenges before the official ceremony begins.

The Maze’s Event Space can also be hired for wedding receptions and there’s different catering options to choose from including luxury five-course meals and a hog roast.
