A total of five Greater Manchester Police officers and support workers were sacked for misconduct in the last three months – and five would have been sacked if still with the force.

The outcomes are on a list released at the start of the month of tribunals held between April and June.

According to the list, one police constable was dismissed after a criminal conviction for harassment and another police constable was dismissed following a criminal conviction for theft.

A member of staff convicted of impersonating a police officer was also sacked.

One PC who conducted sexual activity on duty and towards a colleague was dismissed, as was another PC for 'discreditable conduct'.

Other officers and support workers no longer at the force would have been sacked if still in their roles.

These include a police sergeant who sent offensive messages, and a police constable who abused their position for a sexual purpose.

Another police officer would have been dismissed for 'discreditable conduct'.

Meanwhile, two members of staff would have been sacked, one for the assault of three emergency workers, and one for the harassment of a colleague and a failure to follow management advice.

Not all officers and supports workers accused of misconduct were dismissed.

There were written warnings for a PC who failed to isolate after an order from track and trace, and for a member of staff who included inaccurate information on an application for security clearance.

As well as final written warnings for a PC who sent offensive messages about a member of staff to a member of the public, and for a member of staff who showed unwanted behaviour to colleagues.

A police officer who failed to challenge a colleague who met with a member of the public on duty was given management advice, while a member of staff who was involved in a disturbance was given no sanction at all. This is although it was proven this staff member struck out at someone and caused damage to a vehicle.

Finally, two officers were cleared of all wrongdoing after a long investigation.

This was after one was accused of using a dog to attack suspects, and the other was accused of failing to challenge this use of a dog.

Previously, the pair were acquitted of wounding with intent and of aiding and abetting wounding with intent at Preston Crown Court.
