THESE shocking photos show the aftermath of an incident in which a woman's car was crushed by a tree in Altrincham – with the woman inside.
The tree fell onto the car, a black Peugeot, in the midst of strong winds due to Storm Malik on Saturday.
Firefighters attended Dunham Road at around midday to rescue the woman, then administered first aid.
They handed her over to North West Ambulance Service for further treatment.
A post on social media by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters rescued a woman after a tree had fallen onto a car roof."
"The woman received first aid from a fire service technician before being transferred to the care of North West Ambulance Service."
On Saturday, Storm Malik meant there were weather warnings across northern England, as well as in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
A boy and a woman were killed by falling trees due to strong winds in Staffordshire and Scotland respectively.
