TV'S Simon Rimmer took to social media to reveal his vision for a vegetarian restaurant in Sale this week – including a not-so-secret garden.

After a teaser on January 16, confirmation came on January 18 of a sister restaurant to Greens in Didsbury coming to Stanley Square in spring.

And in videos on social media, Rimmer then revealed his vision for the vegetarian restaurant, which he is opening alongside Simon Connolly.

In his first video, the chef and co-presenter of Sunday Brunch said: "We're going to open another Greens.

"There's a lot of work to do and one of the biggest challenges, because it's an old bank, is a massive vault.

"It's got to be removed before we can make what will be a great restaurant."

Rimmer and Connolly opened Greens in Didsbury in 1990, and it has been serving up a range of animal-free fare to its customers ever since.

But what the restaurant on Lapwing Lane lacks is a lot of outdoor space, something Rimmer suggested might change at Sale's Stanley Square.

In his second video, he said: "On this site, there's something exciting.

"We're hoping it will turn into our secret garden roof terrace.

"It would be brilliant if we could get it to happen," he added.

Although the restaurant is the first time Greens is expanding into other areas, it is not Rimmer's first time in Trafford.

For 10 years, he owned Earle on the site of what is now Riva in Hale.

And if two Greens is not enough, he is also involved in a number of other bars and restaurants across Manchester and Liverpool, as well Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Greens is set to open at Sale's Stanley Square in spring. To see its progress on social media, follow @greenssale on Instagram and Twitter.
