OFFICERS have made an arrest after a man approached two schoolgirls and made 'inappropriate' comments in Altrincham.
At around 7.55am on Wednesday, November 10, a man approached a girl in Stamford Park as she was on the way to school.
He then approached another girl as she was walking through Altrincham Golf Club a short time later.
Although the man is thought to have made 'inappropriate' comments, he is not thought to have attempted to grab the girls.
Today, officers arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of public order offences. He is still in custody.
In a post on social media, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "I appreciate these incidents have caused concern in the community and I would like to reassure the public child safety is a top priority for our officers.
"We take all reports of this nature seriously and we will always investigate thoroughly, which in this case has led to us making an arrest."
