A MAN from Urmston's hilarious Halloween decoration prompted a 'full-scale police operation' earlier in the week.
Darren Houlker, from Bent Lanes, has used the arm and leg on his car for years.
However, this year, he used them on his van – a fact he had forgotten when he started driving it around Urmston on Wednesday.
Darren had stopped off at his brother's house, around the corner from his own, when he heard sirens in the distance.
A notification from the doorbell at his house revealed the police were looking for him.
He said: "We heard police sirens, then my watch pinged and it was my Ring Doorbell.
"I flew round to see what was going on when the officer told me there was a call about someone hanging out the back of a van."
The situation was soon defused when Darren told the officer to take a look at the back of the van.
He described how the officer looked to the sky and said 'I don't believe this', then called off other officers en route to the scene.
He said: "We had triggered a full-scale police operation.
"Luckily, the officer who was first on the scene at my house saw the funny side of it."
