A woman from London has been hit with a large fine for participating in a gathering which breached Covid regulations in Oldham.

Tameside Magistrates’ Court found Emily Arnott took part in the meeting of people on Greenacres Road in February of this year.

The gathering had two or more people in it and took place while Oldham was subject to tier four regulations.

The court ruled the 27-year-old breached the Health Protection Regulations of 2020, which the government brought in to deal with the pandemic.

Following the outcome the woman from Fairfax Road in London was hit with a fine of £1,760.
