A TRIO of lawyers made light work of a bee-shaped bike ride around Greater Manchester over the weekend.

Rory McCarron, Jane Bedford and Sally Moore from law firm Leigh Day's personal injury team took on the 66-mile ride in support of charity Simply Cycling.

The charity, based at Longford Park and Wythenshawe Park, promotes safe cycling for people of all abilities.

Leigh Day, which specialises in helping injured cyclists, made a £500 donation to support its work.

Sally said: "We were delighted to be able to make a donation to Simply Cycling as part of our celebration of safer cycling with our bee-shaped cycle ride.

"Cycling is a wonderful activity that brings benefits to people of all ages and abilities, and we would encourage as many people as possible to have a go."

With more than 180 adapted bikes and trikes, Simply Cycling offers low-cost sessions to the less able-bodied.

Sue Blaylock from the charity said the bee-shaped bike ride, which took more than six hours, as well as the donation, was a welcome boost to its work.

She said: "We have around 600 people cycling with us every week, and we are always on the lookout for additional bikes and trikes to add to our fleet to ensure we can cater for everyone.

"We are so excited to receive this donation, and we are definitely on the hunt for our next purchase," she added.
