A 'BODY' seen lying at the side of the motorway was in fact a man sleeping on the hard shoulder.
Officers were called to multiple reports of a body on the M60 at Junction 7 for Stretford.
However, it soon became clear a man had 'used the M60 to walk home, got a little tired and decided to have a nap'.
Officers issued the man with a traffic offence report and removed him from the motorway.
They posted the incident on social media at 7am on Wednesday.
The post said: "#XT18 and #ME18 have just attended the M60 J7 following reports of a body on the motorway.
"Turned out to be a male who decided to use the M60 to walk home, got a little tired and decided to have a nap on the hard shoulder!
"TOR issued and removed from the motorway."
