ALTRINCHAM FC have revealed a plan to build a 'mutually beneficial' relationship with businesses in the area.

The Robins have set up a business club as part of a drive to 'expand as a club' and 'embrace the local community'.

And unlike other similar business clubs, this one is open to all businesses big or small.

In a two-tier membership system, £40 a month will provide a business with access to networking events with guest speakers as well as free digital advertising on the Altrincham website's business club page.

Two of the guest speakers lined up are television presenter Jenny Powell and Premier League referee Anthony Taylor, a Robins supporter who has earned praise for his level of performance during Euro 2020.

Meanwhile, £60 a month will provide a business with all of the above, plus two season tickets to share with its employees.

It will also allow the business to mingle with directors from Altrincham and their opposition at a home fixture of its choice.

Other benefits of both memberships include access to a business club mobile app, training and workshops, and discounts on hospitality and matchday tickets.

The Robins' co-chairman Lawrence Looney said: "It’s an exciting concept we can’t wait to get off the ground, and I can’t stress enough how a warm welcome awaits businesses of all sizes.

"There's a perception of business clubs being the sole preserve of the big employers, but that’s certainly not the case with ours, and that's why we've set subscription rates at such a competitive level.

"It's open to all, and we want to attract the smaller businesses that help to create and maintain such a thriving local community - whether it's retailers, food outlets, trades - as well as the bigger concerns that are based in the area and help to put Altrincham on the map nationally and beyond.

‘We’ve got lots of exciting ideas lined up, and it'll be mutually beneficial for all who join, with regular networking and opportunities to broaden and expand business contacts and forge new friendships.’
