POLICE are appealing for information following an assault in Altrincham two months ago.

On Saturday 15 May, at around 9.20pm, officers were called to a report of an assault at One Central.

There was an altercation at the popular food and drink venue between the victim and a man who came to sit at his table.

During the altercation, the victim was punched a number of times to his head and face.

The 49-year-old received minor injuries as a result, but did not need hospital treatment.

No arrests were made at the time, and police have now issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.

They have also issued another image of a watch they believe might belong to the man.

Neighbourhood Policing Officer Grace Tarver of GMP Trafford said: "This was a completely unnecessary assault on an innocent member of the public and we will not stand for such behaviour in our communities."

Anyone with information about the man in the image or the assault is asked to contact police on 0161 856 7507 and quote incident 1740 of May 15, or to use the online chat function on gmp.police.uk.
