TRAFFORD'S best GP practices according to the people using them have been revealed in a survey.

The results of this year's GP Patient Survey were published last week after more than 10,000 questionnaires were circulated in Trafford, of which 3,870 were completed.

The questionnaires asked a range of questions about people's experiences of their GP practices, like making appointments and accessing online or out-of-hours services.

And one question asked for people to rate their overall satisfaction with their experiences.

Riddings Family Health Centre in Timperley topped the table in the responses to this question, with an overall satisfaction rating of 99 per cent.

It was followed by three practices with an overall satisfaction rating of 98 per cent - Village Surgery, Conway Road Medical Practice and Bodmin Road Health Centre.

In total, 14 practices had a satisfaction rating of 90 per cent or more.

At the other end of the table, North Trafford Group Practice had a satisfaction rating of 71 per cent.

It was one of five practices in Trafford to fall below the national average of 83 per cent.

However, 88 per cent of people in Trafford were overall satisfied, higher than the national average.

Dr Mark Jarvis, medical director at NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: "As a CCG, our job is to make sure Trafford people have the health services they need, and that these services are safe and deliver high-quality care.

"So I’m delighted to be able to say that if you're registered with a GP practice in our borough, you're likely to be happy with the overall experience of using its services.

"In fact, the overall satisfaction rating has actually improved by two percentage points to 88 per cent this year, showing residents support how we've offered more ways of holding appointments, whether that's online, over the phone or in person.

"The GP Patient Survey results, which show satisfaction in Trafford is higher than the national average, are testament to the professionalism of our practices and the services they offer to people who live in this borough, and to our partners and colleagues in supporting them."
