A GREATER Manchester Police (GMP) staff member was dismissed after "engaging in sexual activity within the workplace with colleagues".

In a gross misconduct hearing the force worker was also found to have abused their position for sexual gain.

GMP also said the worker carried out sexual harassment in the workplace by touching a colleague's breast.

And the employee also discussed the investigation with a colleague despite being told not to, GMP said.

They attempted to "frustrate the investigation" as well, the hearing on January 25 this year ruled.

Hearings for two members of staff were held on April 13 in which they "actively involved themselves in an ongoing gross misconduct investigation involving colleagues and deliberately tried to undermine the investigation process".

They also "engaged in sexual activity within the workplace, while on duty with a colleague".

The staff members would have been dismissed if they were still working for the force, GMP said.

In another gross misconduct hearing on February 8, it was discovered that a constable sent an inappropriate picture to a child who was met through the officer's duties.

GMP said the officer would have been dismissed if they would have still been employed by the force.

A force worker was dismissed after sexually harassing two female colleagues in the workplace and making inappropriate comments of a sexual nature in the workplace, a gross misconduct hearing on May 5 found.

In a hearing on March 11, it was revealed that a Special Constable "posted inappropriate pictures of themselves on social media (having identified as a police officer) and made abusive comments towards members of the public on the same platform".

The worker no longer works for the force but it was deemed that they would have been dismissed if they still worked for GMP.

A sergeant was given a written warning on March 23 after being arrested off duty for being drunk and disorderly.

A member of GMP staff was handed a written warning on April 12 after being convicted of driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

In a misconduct meeting on April 27, two constables were given written warnings after turning off body worn video as they suspected a colleague was about to use excessive force.

A constable, who no longer works for GMP, was drunk and behaved inappropriately on a plane when they were off duty.

They would have been dismissed if they still worked for the force, a hearing on May 21 ruled.

In a misconduct meeting on February 9, it was discovered that a constable took a photograph of a detainee and shared the image on the social media messaging app, WhatsApp.

They were given a final written warning.

A gross misconduct hearing on April 16 left a member of police staff with a final written warning after they accessed and disclosed confidential data held by GMP for a non-policing purpose.

The worker also "breached the requirements of social distancing legislation on a number of occasions".

They were "aware of criminal activity which was not reported" too and "failed to declare notifiable associations".

On April 20, a GMP staff member was given a fixed penalty notice for a Covid-19 breach and handed a final written warning.
