South Swindon MP Robert Buckland has started giving away laptops to charities in need.

Four donated laptops were refurbished by SP Computers Swindon and given to Swindon MS & Neuro Therapy Centre.

The charity helps those living with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions.

Robert originally began the Local Laptop Scheme for pupils in January, donating unused and unwanted devices to Swindon schools.

He then extended it to charities after being contacted by many who needed devices.

The MP says: “I am extremely proud of this successful scheme, which has been extended to benefit local charities as well as school pupils here in the town.

"I am very grateful to all of those local residents and businesses who have donated devices, not to mention the brilliant teams at Exaclibur and SP Computers who have stepped up at such a difficult time and repaired hundreds of devices.

“I am calling for residents and businesses here in Swindon who have unwanted or unused devices to get in touch so that these can be put to good use, and calling for local charities to get in touch if they could benefit from a refurbished device.”

The charity's CEO, Beth Gardner, says: "The laptops will replace old failing equipment and make such a difference to us.

"Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this happen.”
