BOURNEMOUTH will speak with Saints over the next couple of days to determine the next steps regarding Shane Long's injury concern.

The striker, who arrived at Vitality Stadium on loan from Saints in February, is currently sidelined with a groin problem.

Long has not been part of the squad for wins over Huddersfield and Norwich and looks set to miss tomorrow's trip to Millwall (6pm) with the same problem.

Asked for an update on the Republic of Ireland international, boss Jonathan Woodgate said: "We’ll have a decision to make on Longy in the next 48 hours I think.

"He’s been working with the physios, so we’ll have to have some dialogue with Southampton and see what road we go down and see if there’s any improvement in his injury at the minute.

"He hasn’t gone back (to Saints). He’s working closely with our physios.

"They’re going to have a meeting in the next 48 hours to decide what to do next and what they can do and what they think they should do.

"So I’ll have more news in the next 48 hours on that."
