CAR BOOT SALES are officially back on- much to the delight of bargain hunters across the nation.

They are the perfect place to find a bargain or simply to flog your unwanted items to earn a bit of cash.

During lockdown, it’s likely that you have accumulated a wealth of items ordered from Amazon and eBay out of boredom.

However, now is the time to sell on those puzzles and banana bread recipe books and invest in new and exciting items as lockdown restrictions ease.

Here are five car boot sales that you can visit in Greater Manchester:

Bolton’s most popular car boot sale returned last weekend (18 April).

Fans of the site were clearly excited as their reopening post received 233 likes and 130 shares to date.

One excited person wrote: “Can't wait to get some fantastic bargains”

Another said: “This has made my day yes yes yes.”

Best of all, there is no need to book a spot if you are selling as they are operating on a first come first serve basis.

Prices are as follows:

Cars- £12

Vans- £16

Trailers- an extra £3

Buyer’s parking- £1

The earliest sellers can arrive on site is 5:45am so keep this in mind if you are planning to pitch up.

East Lancs Car Boot, Morleys Lane, Manchester

East Lancs Car Boot is back and opened to the public last Sunday.

They are encouraging people to stay at home if they feel unwell and to adhere to Covid and social distancing regulations while here.

The gates open from 6:30 am and buyers and sellers won’t be admitted before this time.

You don’t need to book a pitch- simply turn up on the day and you will be show to an appropriate spot.

Pitch prices are as follows:

Cars- £10
Cars with a trailer- £14
Vans- £12-£20

Best of all, you can bring your four legged friend onto the site with you.

Oldham Rugby Union, Byrth Road, Oldham

According to their Facebook page, this car boot is hugely popular and attracts sellers from far and wide.

Buyers and sellers are being encouraged to wear face coverings and the organisers have assured customers that the car boot are adhering to Covid rules.

If you are a seller, it’s £12 to pitch up a car and £20 for a van.

The Car Boot sales here start from 6am-12pm every Sunday- turn up and pick a spot if you are planning to sell.

White Elephant Car Boot, Romiley, Stockport

This unique indoor car boot specialises in items that are baby, child and maternity related.

If you have children and are looking for some bargain items, it could the ideal place for you to visit.

If you are  a seller, it’s essential that you book and pay for your pitch in advance of the day.

If you provide your own table, it’s £12 for sellers. If you need a table to be provided it’s £18.

Smithfield Sunday Market and Car Boot, Openshaw, Manchester

Every Sunday the New Smithfield Wholesale Market hosts a Sunday market and car boot with casual trading, where anyone can turn up and sell their goods.

You can also apply to trade more regularly if you prefer.

According to the Manchester.gov website, social distancing measures will be in place to keep people safe.

According to Facebook comments, it’s a more popular place for market traders instead of old fashioned car boot sales people.

Opening hours are 7am-2pm and the last customer entry is 1:30pm.

Seller prices vary depending on what you are selling but start from £18 for a car.

Burnage Rugby Club car boot on Battersea Road, Stockport will reopen on Sunday 2nd May.

Bowlee Car Boot Sale in Middleton will be back on 4 July and run every Sunday until the end of September.
