I HOPE that you have all had a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend.

Over the break Val and I took our little ten-month old Jackahuahua, Betty, for a walk along the banks of the Mersey. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful trail to follow that is right here on our doorstep.

It was really nice to take in some fresh air, enjoy the scenery and just to have some time out from our everyday routine.

We called at Riverbank Coffee, featured in The Messenger last week, and sat down by the river to enjoy a nice relaxing latte. I had what I can only describe as the nicest tasting sausage roll I have ever had in my life.

Apart from that lovely walk, we’ve spent the rest of our long weekend in the garden. I love getting stuck into a bit of gardening. I like how you can see the instant results.

I’ve also glimpsed some light at the end of the tunnel with regards to Covid-19 and the easing of lockdowns. I have had my first couple of bookings come in, which is great. I’m thrilled that I’m going to be able to sing again to an actual live audience. I can not tell you just how much I have missed doing that.

The first booking is the Come Together Urmston 2021 concert organised by Roy Matthews, at Urmston Sports Club on Moorside Road, Urmston, on Sunday, August 1.

Tickets for this music event are £5 and will be available soon, I will keep you posted on that.

The second booking is for Denise Welch’s Hooray for Hollywood 20th Anniversary Spectacular.

The star-studded event, supporting the GEM Appeal, will be held at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel (formerly the Principal Hotel) in Manchester on Saturday, November 20.

Tickets range from a standard ticket at £100 each to a gold ticket package at £450 each. For more information contact Entertainment Today on 0161 484 0876 or email info@entertainmenttoday.co.uk

So, with music bookings slowly but surely coming back in and events starting to be planned and organised, I hope to continue to bring you the best of our borough and tell you all about what’s going on each week around Trafford, here in Wayne’s World.

Don’t forget that if you have any shout outs, birthdays, anniversaries etc let me know about them and I’ll give them a mention here in my column and/or on my community website www.allabouttrafford.co.uk.

You can email me on devlinbookings@aol.com with anything you’d like sharing.

Have a great week, stay safe and see you all next week.
