A GROUP is hoping to tidy up their local park - and create place to reflect.
The Friends of Davyhulme Park want to improve the rose garden there by creating a peaceful oasis tailored towards the needs of veterans who have given so much for the country.
The group has partnered with the charity PTSD Resolution to design the Veterans Peace Garden and is holding a sponsored Big Local Litter Pick at 11am on March 28 to raise funds.
The litter pick will focus on cleaning up around the Urmston and Davyhulme area.
It will be socially distanced and those taking part have been urged to stick to the current coronavirus guidelines.
Event leader Louise Riley said: “We are hoping that our event will help us raise funds to do that and at the same time put a shine back on the whole neighbourhood.”
