CORONAVIRUS infection rates are decreasing in all but six areas of Blackburn with Darwen.
Analysis of the Government’s Covid-19 infections map shows that the rate has increased in six places, with everywhere else recording a dip in new cases and infections.
Of the places with an increased rate, Meadowhead recorded the biggest rise, after 68 new cases in the seven days to January 11 brought the area’s figure to 954 cases per 100,000 people.
Little Harwood; Lammack and Revidge; North Darwen; Central Blackburn and Shadsworth were the other areas where rates increased.
Everywhere else recorded a decrease in infection rates, with Tockholes, Edgworth & Hoddlesden having the lowest in Blackburn with Darwen – 405.0 cases per 100,000 people.
Last week the Lancashire Telegraph reported that The only place in the borough to record less cases week on week was Lammack and Revidge, where a 20.5 per cent drop had been recorded in new infections.
That is now the case for all but six placed in the borough.
