HAVE you put up your Christmas tree yet?

If not, there is plenty of time to order your very own real tree, even during lockdown.

The government has deemed Christmas tree sellers to be essential businesses and many were allowed to open last Saturday (21 November).

There is something special about buying a real tree- especially when you buy yours from a small and local business.

Best of all, each tree is unique so you are bound to find a tree that adheres to your personal preferences.

Here are some fantastic places in East Lancashire to buy your own real Christmas tree- as well as some advice about how to dispose of it afterwards.

Dove Syke Nursery

Where: Eaves Hall Lane, Clitheroe, Lancashire

(Facebook/ dovesykenursery)

If you want a real tree that has been lovingly grown and cared for, then look no further than the trees at Dove Sky Nursery.

While they are a small nursery, their trees are great quality and the staff are at hand to answer any questions you have about caring for the trees.

From the popular Nordmann Fir to the more traditional Norway Spruce, there are a variety of trees to choose from at this Nursery.

Trees aren’t the only products being sold here either, as festive wreaths and swags can also be purchased- and they are all homemade.

Once you have finished shopping, there are plenty of alpacas and chickens on the farm that your kids can visit and feed.

The nursery is open to the public every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

How to dispose of your Christmas Tree

Once the season’s merriment is over, it’s time to dispose of your Christmas tree.

However, instead of fly tipping there are plenty of ways to dispose of your tree.

You could chop it up and place it in your green bin.

Another option is to take it to your local recycling centre.
