POLICE have stepped up patrols in the Whitefield area following a recent spate of burglaries.
GMP Bury South said that due to the incidents, the neighbourhood team would be in the area for the rest of the week.
The officers will be based in Sunny Bank Road and will be there to consult with residents and provide advice on making homes more secure.
They will also be on foot patrol in the area.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Please be vigilant, lock doors, windows and keep your property safe. Keep burglars out: remember that lights, alarms and CCTV Cameras are all a great deterrent."
GMP is also offering a free home security survey - which can be arranged by emailing burysouth@gmp.police.uk.
