ANOTHER 87 Bolton residents have been diagnosed with covid-19.
Government figures published yesterday afternoon confirmed the new cases, bringing the borough's total infections to 4,157.
Of the newest cases, 46 were recorded from people tested on Monday, whilst 26 of the positive results cane from people tested on Sunday.
Another 12 people tested on Saturday received a positive result, with three tests from Friday showing new cases.
Across the borough, 612 new cases were confirmed in people tested in the week up to Sunday, September 20, for a rate of 214.7 infections per 100,000 people.
The latest update came as a further 23 people who tested positive for coronavirus died in hospital in England.
Recently recorded deaths took place between August 14 and September 22, with all patients aged between 69 and 96, with known underlying health conditions.
Nationally, 6,178 new cases of covid-19 were confirmed as of 9am yesterday morning – taking the total number of cases seen during the pandemic to 409,729.
Covid-19 has now been mentioned on the death certificates of 57,500 people across the UK, including just under 30,000 people who died in English hospitals.
