The Haldarvi family who hail from Bolton and Blackburn will be appearing on Family Fortunes as the show returns to the screens this weekend.

The revamped series is hosted by Gino D’Acampo and is back on ITV this Sunday from 8pm.

Two families go head to head as they try to name the post popular answer to survey-based questions posed to 100 people, with a chance to win a £30,000 jackpot prize.

The new Family Fortunes keeps the classic features of the original with the families playing for the chance to win single, double and of course, ‘big money’ through the game play, as well as the added bonus of winning additional prizes along the way.

Rabiya Jiva and her husband Zulfi are from Bolton. Rabia's brother Sajid Ismail Haldarvi, wife Sunnah and son Adam hail from Blackburn.

Sajid told us, “What an experience being on Family Fortunes. A programme that most of us watched growing up in the 90s and now we are on the new revamped show with Gino D'Acampo!

“We as a family are all outgoing and enjoy experiencing new adventures and felt this one would be one to tell and show the grandkids.

“The actual gameshow was a real nail biter and you’ll know what I mean when you watch it, but win lose or draw we all had a great time and one that we will remember for a long time to come.”

“I actually bought the Family Fortunes board game during lockdown and played with my family. It’s probably one of the only games we have where the whole family can get involved –we don’t normally play board games together but we loved it.

Amelia  Brown,  Managing  Director  of  Thames  adds: “Family  Fortunes  is  one  of  the  most  iconic  and funniest gameshows around, and I’m thrilled we get to bring it back on ITV. Gino will be an incredible and brilliantly unpredictable host and we’re delighted he’s taking the reins. What better time is there to bring back this family-based extravaganza!”
