Illegal taxi drivers

TWO men who were acting as taxi drivers without a hackney carriage licence have been fined by magistrates.

Reyhaz Mohammed, of Walker Avenue, Bolton, was caught plying for hire on Deansgate, Manchester, on October 4 as was Khalique Shahdazi, of The Sheddings, Bolton.

They admitted committing the offence and having no insurance. Each was fined a total of £170. In addition they were both ordered to pay £200 towards prosecution costs and six penalty points were added to their licences.

Alcohol order

A WOMAN has been ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction after she assaulted a man.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Anne-Marie Gee, aged 62, of Seddon Lane, Stoneclough, admitted committing the offence on September 6.

In addition to the alcohol treatment order, Gee was fined £20, must participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities and was ordered to pay £175 in costs and charges.

Teenager harassed woman

A TEENAGER who used multiple phone numbers to harass a woman by repeatedly calling and texting her must do 60 hours of unpaid work.

Manchester magistrates heard how Safyeen Kaify, aged 18, of Plodder Lane, Farnworth, also drove past his victim’s home on numerous occasions.

He pleaded guilty to harassment and also admitted assaulting her on August 17. Kaify was ordered to participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities, and pay £50 in compensation.

Man assaulted

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work after he assaulted another man on June 26.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Mohamed Bax, aged 40, of Eden Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.

In addition to the unpaid work, Bax was ordered to participate in 14 days of rehabilitation activities, pay his victim £200 in compensation and £85 towards prosecution costs.

Window smash man in court

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he smashed a window, worth £200 on May 20.

Joshua McGovern, aged 24, of Jedburgh Avenue, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing criminal damage when he appeared before Manchester magistrates.

He was also ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.

Two fined after appointment fail

TWO men have each been fined £50 by magistrates after they failed to attend probation appointments.

Jonathon Windsor, aged 27, from Brook Avenue, Bolton admitted breaching the terms of his licence on release from prison

Craig Jones, aged 35, of Park Street, Bolton, admitted breaching the terms of a community sentence order.

Drink driver to do unpaid work

MAGISTRATES have ordered a woman to do 80 hours of unpaid work after she drove a car whilst almost three times over the alcohol limit.

Erin Lomax, aged 34, of Fernleigh, Chorley New Road, Horwich, pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Ford Focus on Chorley New Road on June 6, when she appeared at Wigan Magistrates’ Court.

She was banned from driving for 28 months.

As part of her sentence she was ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and must also pay £180 in costs and charges.

No insurance

A MAN caught driving a Nissan Micra on Tonge Moor Road, Bolton without insurance has been fined £120 by magistrates.

Matthew Liddell, aged 38, of Harvey Street, Bolton, committed the offence on June 8 and pleaded guilty.

In addition to the fine, eight points were added to his licence and he was ordered to pay £119 in costs and charges.

Chemist thief climbed through roof

A THIEF who smashed his way into a chemist’s shop through the roof has been given a suspended prison sentence.

At Wigan Magistrates’ Court James Henderson, also known as James Farrell,aged 26, of Moorfield Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to burgling Gatley’s Chemist, Tonge Fold, on June 14 and stealing £50.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £213 in costs and charges.

No licence

A VAN driver caught without a licence or insurance has been fined by magistrates.

At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Martin Horrocks, aged 44, of Fairmount Avenue, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences.

The court heard that he was behind the wheel of a Citroen Berlingo van on Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, on May 28.

He was fined £120 plus £119 in costs and charges.

Breath test woman loses licence

A WOMAN who failed to provide police with a breath sample has been banned from driving for 22 months.

Geraldine Lomax, aged 60, of Lowry Walk, Halliwell, committed the offence on June 13.

At Wigan Magistrates’ Court she pleaded guilty and was fined £200 plus £119 in costs and charges.

Drug driver banned from roads

A DRUG driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months.

Wigan magistrates heard how Naran Bhudia, aged 48, of Hamel Street, Bolton, was stopped driving a Vauxhall Astra on Stone Hill Road, Farnworth, on December 27 last year.

Bhudia tested positive for having taken cocaine and cannabis.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of drug driving.

In addition to the driving ban, he was fined £250 as well as £117 in costs and charges.

Unpaid work

A MAN convicted of harassing a woman for three months until March this year has been sentenced to do 60 hours of unpaid work.

Steven Williams, aged 47, of Willow Close, Bolton, admitted banging on her door, shouting though the letterbox and calling her several times.

He was also ordered to participate in rehabilitation activities and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.

Offensive message sent by man

MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 16 weeks after he admitted send an offensive message to a woman.

Daniel Johnson, aged 29, of Manchester Road, Over Hulton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on July 9. In addition to the prison sentence, Johnson was banned from contacting his victim and must pay a £128 victim surcharge.

Drink driver

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 17 months by Wigan magistrates.

Heath Waring, aged 48, of Campbell Court, Farnworth, was stopped driving a Ford Fiesta on Scholey Street, Bolton, on August 10. He pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was also fined £120 plus £119 in costs and charges.

Man tagged

A MAN has been electronically tagged and made subject to an 8pm to 7am curfew for eight weeks after he admitted assaulting a man in Bolton on August 11. Magistrates also ordered Milan Hlavac, aged 20, of Luton Street, Bolton, to pay £180 in costs and charges.
