POLICE in Bolton have handed out five fines for breaching coronavirus rules in the space of 24 hours.
Officers received 19 reports of breaches, attending 18 of them and giving out five fixed penalty notices.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) did stress that most of the reports did not lead to further action being taken though.
A GMP Bolton North spokesman said: "Pleasingly the majority of incidents were found to not be as initially reported.
"We provide this service in addition to providing our usual response to incidents reported to us.
"We need you the public to play your part and help us stop a second lock down.
"Please follow the guidelines and help keep Bolton safe.
"If you see anyone not following the rules then please contact us. There is a specific section of the GMP website dedicated to reporting covid-19 breaches."
