BURGLARS targeted two homes in Breightmet overnight on Sunday, with one break-in leading to a car being stolen.

Police were called to St James Avenue after a Seat car was taken in a burglary, believed to have happened between 10pm on Sunday and 7am on Monday.

An investigation has been launched.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Just before 8.40am on Monday, September 14, officers were called to a report of a burglary at an address on St James Avenue in Bolton.

"A Seat car was taken after a house was broken into at some point between 10pm on September 13 and 7am on September 14."

In a second incident, police were sent to Breightmet Drive at around 1.20am on Monday after a burglary was reported.

When officers arrives it was discovered that the thieves left empty-handed.

A GMP spokesman added: "Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident number 179 of September 14."
