A MAJOR property developer proposed to turn its former business centre into flats.

Brierfield’s Barnfield Construction Ltd has applied for planning permission from Pendle council to convert the former Linden Business Centre in Colne into 20 apartments.

The bid says it would retain a ground floor office and a first floor theatre store as well as 21 parking spaces at the building on Linden Road near Colne Muni.

The flats will be marketed by Barnfield Homes around Christmas and be available for occupation by Easter next year.

Jamie Irving, development surveyor at the The Barnfield Group said “We’re delighted to be developing twenty one high specification apartments just off the bustling high street, in the popular market town of Colne.

"The stylish two-bedroom apartments are located in our former Linden House Business Centre and will offer a perfect blend of 19th century architecture with contemporary specifications.

"More marketing details and pricing on the Barnfield Homes apartments will be available soon and interested parties are being asked to sign up for updates on the website – www.barnfield-homes.co.uk.

"The apartments are expected to be completed around Spring 2021."
