ANOTHER 25 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last two days.

Figures released by Public Health England yesterday afternoon covered both Thursday and Friday, after no data was issued on Thursday afternoon.

No reason was given for the missing figures, after a technical error prevented an update from being issued on Tuesday.

Yesterday, 134,390 tests were processed across England, returning 1,284 positive results.

No data on the number of tests processed in the North West or in Bolton is available.

So far, 2,144 people in the borough have tested positive for covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Since Monday, 61 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, with eight residents on Monday, 15 on Tuesday, and 13 on Wednesday all learning they had contracted the virus.

No new coronavirus-related deaths have been reported this week, leaving the total number of deaths linked to the virus at 230.

Eight patients were admitted to hospitals in the North West yesterday, with 138 patients being treated for coronavirus in the region.

Currently, 18 of those are on ventilation.
