THE latest figures revealed by Public Health England reported today (Thursday, August 6) show there have been no new coronavirus deaths reported at any Cheshire hospital in the past 24 hours.

This means the number of coronavirus deaths reported at Cheshire hospitals throughout the pandemic remains at 723.

The last death at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust occurred on July 18, which was announced by the trust two days later. A total of 227 people with coronavirus have died in the trust's hospitals.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 213 coronavirus deaths, East Cheshire NHS Trust 146, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 137.

As of 4.10pm on Wednesday, August 5, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire West and Chester stood at 2,055.

Across England, a further five people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in the latest 24-hour recording period, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,376.

Two of the five deaths were reported in North West hospitals, with the remaining three in the Midlands, the South East and the East of England.

Patients were aged between 45 and 86 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.
