TRAVEL agent Ken Garrity has had double reasons to celebrate this week.

As well as being appointed President of Altrincham Rotary Club, Ken was pleased that countries popular with his clients have been exempted from UK quarantine from tomorrow, July 10.

He said: “July 10 is a good start date but I believe that health is the no.1 priority. Coronavirus, will be with us for some time and people need to have the right attitude towards it.

“Visitors should respect local rules such as wearing masks, distancing, etc. wherever they travel.

“That goes for most airlines, too. Passengers may have to wear masks, use hand sanitisers and stay in their seats. People might board in small groups.

“All hand luggage may have to go in the hold. These conditions would vary from air line to air line.

“A few of my clients are going later this year but, on advice, most of them have moved their holidays to next year.”

Ken explained that most insurance companies would not include the risk of Coronavirus unless people had paid before the pandemic.

He pointed out that the beauty of booking through a travel agent is that if their clients get stranded, they would help them to get home as his company had done in the past.

“I feel the green shoots of passengers being able to travel have reappeared. People deserve a break in the sun.”
